Job description

Tiger Finance, the mortgage origination arm of LIONLEAD Real Estate, is seeking a motivated and detail- oriented Mortgage Originator to help clients navigate the home loan process from start to finish. You will manage applications, negotiate with banks, support real estate agents, and ultimately help South Africans access property finance with confidence and ease.

Client Engagement & Origination

  • Engage daily with clients (telephonically or in person) to assess financial readiness and perform affordability checks

  • Match client profiles to the best available lending options and educate them on bond products, terms, and benefits

  • Complete and submit accurate home loan applications to financial institutions via DealMaker (or similar platforms)

  • Guide clients through the home loan journey from pre-approval to registration

Application Management & Bank Liaison

  • Follow up with banks daily on submitted applications and push for timeous approvals

  • Motivate declined applications, submit appeals, and negotiate better terms on behalf of clients

  • Track every deal through CRM systems, ensuring updated status reports and pipeline visibility

Sales Support & Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with Tiger Finance and LIONLEAD real estate teams to maximise referral opportunities

  • Build strong working relationships with attorneys, developers, estate agents, and bank reps

  • Attend to ad hoc administrative and support duties to ensure smooth deal flow

    Performance & Conversion

  • Aim for high approval and conversion rates by qualifying applicants accurately and managing expectations

  • Move granted applications to “done deal” status (purchase price paid and registered) within SLA timelines

  • Ensure contracts and sale agreements are completed correctly and timeously

Job requirements

  • 2+ years in bond origination, mortgage advisory, property finance, or banking

  • Existing client or agent referral book advantageous

  • Knowledge of major banks’ mortgage policies and affordability models

  • Strong telephone manner and written communication

  • High emotional intelligence with service-driven mindset

  • Tech-savvy: comfortable with Google Drive, CRMs, DealMaker, Excel, WhatsApp communication

  • Self-motivated and highly accountable

  • Able to manage multiple applications simultaneously

  • Excellent time management and follow-up discipline

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 (Matric) required; NQF 4 in Real Estate or Finance preferred

  • FICA/FAIS Regulatory understanding is a plus
